How JesRecap fits
Record the call or the room
System audio for video and VoIP calls through Core Audio process taps on macOS or WASAPI loopback on Windows; the microphone track for in-person meetings. Both are written as separate WAV files, mixed for playback afterwards.
Transcribe on the device
A Whisper-family model runs locally — downloaded once, then reused offline. A live transcript during the meeting is optional if you want to follow along; speaker labels are added after recording by a local diarization model.
File it your way
Export Markdown or plain text into the client folder, a JSON archive for your own tooling, SRT/VTT captions, or the WAV audio itself. Meetings also stay in a searchable local library so you can find a conversation without exporting anything.
What stays local
Client audio, transcripts and metadata stay on the adviser’s device as WAV files plus a local SQLite database. Speech recognition and speaker labelling run on that same machine. JesRecap’s only network traffic is the one-time model downloads and licence activation or checkout. No accounts, no telemetry, no client content in either request.
There is no cloud AI, and nothing in the app offers analysis or advice. Meeting actions copy a prompt plus the transcript to your clipboard for whichever AI your firm has approved — so the decision about sending client material to an AI provider remains an explicit, human one. Turn on the optional AI notes on this device setting and that decision need not arise: a summary or action-items note is drafted on the adviser’s own machine, with no provider receiving client material.
What we do not claim
JesRecap is not a regulated communications-archiving product. We make no claim of MiFID II, FINRA, SEC or FCA compliance, and no software should make that claim on your behalf — those obligations attach to your firm, its policies, its retention schedule and its supervision arrangements.
What JesRecap does is support your record-keeping process: it produces a durable local artefact of a conversation — two original audio tracks, a mixed playback file and a transcript — in open formats you can move into whatever archive your compliance function actually uses. There is no vendor lock, no proprietary container, and no cloud copy to reconcile.
It also does not do the things a supervision system does: no immutable WORM storage, no retention automation, no surveillance flags, no e-comms capture beyond the audio your computer plays. If your obligations require those, JesRecap sits alongside that system rather than replacing it.
Record with consent
Tell clients and colleagues when a conversation is being recorded, and follow your firm’s consent and disclosure policy as well as local law. Silent recording is a compliance problem no architecture fixes.

Is client audio ever uploaded?
No. Recording and transcription happen on the device. The only outbound requests are the one-time speech model download and licence activation or checkout, and neither includes meeting content.
Can JesRecap satisfy our call-recording obligations?
That is your firm's determination, not ours. JesRecap gives you the local recording, both original tracks and a transcript in open formats to support your record-keeping process; retention, archiving and supervision remain with your compliance function.
Do you support phone calls?
JesRecap records whatever your computer plays, so a call on a softphone or a mobile on speaker next to the microphone is captured. It does not tap a telephony network.
What happens to a recording if we cancel?
Nothing. The licence is a one-time €34.95 purchase with no subscription, and your recordings are plain WAV files and a local database on your own disk — they do not depend on us being reachable.
Can two people share a licence?
One licence covers 1, 2, 4, or 8 devices for the same person — a laptop and a desktop, for example, on the 2-device tier. For team or volume licensing, get in touch through the enterprise page.
