When Read AI is the better choice
- You want to understand patterns across many meetings — who spoke, how time was spent, which conversations went well — not just read one transcript.
- Managers or teams need a shared view, with reports arriving without anyone doing the collating.
- You want the notetaker to cover calls automatically from your calendar, including ones you skip.
When JesRecap is the better choice
- Analytics about people is exactly what you do not want. JesRecap measures nothing, scores nothing, and reports nothing to anyone.
- The content is sensitive. Audio, transcript and metadata stay on the device; the only network traffic is the one-time model download and license activation.
- No bot should appear in the participant list. Local capture works in Zoom, Teams, Meet, Webex, Slack huddles or any other app, and in person through the microphone.
- You want durable artefacts: separate microphone and system-audio WAV files, a mixed playback track, and exports as Markdown, text, JSON, SRT or VTT.
Questions
Does JesRecap give me any meeting metrics?
No. It gives you a transcript with speaker labels, the audio, and a searchable library of past meetings — no scores, no engagement metrics, nothing measured about the people in the room. For a written summary or action items, a meeting action either generates one on your device or copies a prompt for your own AI.
How are speakers separated without a cloud service?
Your microphone is recorded as its own track, so "You" is unambiguous. Other speakers are labelled after the recording by a local diarization model — a one-time 54 MB download.
Can I use it alongside a team's cloud tool?
Yes. Plenty of people keep a cloud assistant for routine internal calls and use JesRecap for the conversations that should not be uploaded.
Who can see my meetings?
Only you, on your machine. There are no accounts, no server-side storage and no telemetry, so there is nothing for us to look at.
