No cloud AI, no meeting bot, no integrations, no calendar sync, no team or cloud features, no mobile app. Every one of those is a place where meeting content would have to leave your machine or a service would have to hold it for you. Fewer moving parts is the point — but you should know what you are giving up before you buy.
Questions people ask before switching
Is JesRecap a drop-in replacement for a cloud assistant?
Not exactly. It replaces the recording, transcription and note-export part completely. It does not replace shared team workspaces, CRM sync or automatic summaries posted to a channel. If those workflows are load-bearing for your team, a cloud tool is the better fit.
How do I get a summary without a cloud service?
Meeting actions, in one of two ways. By default, one click copies a ready-made prompt with the transcript already inside it — summary, action items, or your own custom prompt — and you paste it into whichever AI you use. Or switch on "AI notes on this device" in settings and the same buttons write the note locally, using a model that lives on your machine (a one-time download of about 1.3 GB). It is off unless you turn it on, and neither route sends your meeting anywhere.
Does it work with Teams, Meet, Webex and Slack huddles?
Yes. JesRecap records the audio your computer is already playing, using Core Audio process taps on macOS and WASAPI loopback on Windows. It does not care which app the meeting is in, and it records in-person conversations through the microphone too.
