JesRecap vs Fireflies
Fireflies is designed to move meeting data outward: a notetaker joins the call, the transcript and summary land in the cloud, and integrations forward them into your CRM and the rest of your stack. JesRecap is designed so meeting data does not move at all — it is captured, transcribed and stored on the machine you were sitting at.

When Fireflies is the better choice
- Call notes need to end up somewhere else automatically — a CRM record, a ticket, a shared channel — without anyone remembering to do it.
- A whole team's meetings should be searchable in one place, including calls individual members did not attend.
- You want conversation analytics across many calls — talk-time, keyword trackers, trends over a quarter — not a note about a single meeting.
When JesRecap is the better choice
- The recording must not leave the device. No upload, no cloud workspace, no vendor holding your audio — and no telemetry either.
- Inviting a notetaker into the call is awkward or not allowed. JesRecap records the audio your computer already plays, in any app, and in-person conversations through the microphone.
- You are one person, or a small team of individuals, who need a reliable record rather than a shared pipeline. No seats to manage — one payment, from €34.95.
- You want the source audio kept: separate microphone and system-audio tracks, retranscribable later, exportable as Markdown, text, JSON, SRT or VTT.
Questions
Can JesRecap post notes to Slack or a CRM?
No. There are no integrations, no calendar sync and no team features — that is a deliberate limit, because each of those would need meeting content to leave the machine. You export Markdown, text, JSON or captions and file them wherever you like.
How do action items work then?
A meeting action copies a prompt with the transcript already included and asks for action items. You paste it into the AI you already use. JesRecap never sends the transcript itself.
Does it record calls on platforms Fireflies supports?
It does not integrate with any platform, which is why it works everywhere. Core Audio process taps on macOS and WASAPI loopback on Windows capture whatever your computer is playing — Zoom, Teams, Meet, Webex, a Slack huddle, a browser tab.
Can two people share one license?
No. A license covers 1, 2, 4, or 8 devices belonging to the same person, depending on the tier. For volume or enterprise licensing, get in touch and we will sort out terms.
No bot. No workspace. No subscription.
JesRecap records both sides of the call on your own machine and hands you the files. From €34.95 once.
