Releases
JesRecap ships as a preview rather than a finished 1.0. This page says which build is current and what it can do, without dressing it up.
What "preview" means
The whole path works: record two tracks, transcribe on the device, label the speakers, export. What is not settled is the polish — interfaces, defaults and wording still move between builds.
Updates are included
Every preview build is free to license holders. Licenses start at From €34.95 once for one device, with tiers up to 8 — updates during the preview included.
Your data survives updates
Meetings live in your own application-support folder as WAV files plus a SQLite database. Installing a newer preview does not touch them, and both source tracks are kept so old meetings can be transcribed again.
Release history
The build on the downloads page for macOS and Windows. What it includes:
- Searchable meeting library, stored locally in SQLite
- Dual-track capture — microphone and system audio as separate files, plus a mixed playback track
- On-device transcription with Whisper-family models, with an optional live transcript during the meeting
- Speaker labels applied after recording by a local diarization model
- Meeting actions that copy a summary, action-items or custom prompt with the transcript included
- Exports: Markdown, plain text, JSON archive, SRT and VTT captions, and WAV audio
Earlier builds in the 0.1.x series were narrower steps towards the current one, and we are not going to reconstruct changelogs for them after the fact. If you are on an older preview, the fix is the same either way: install the current build from the downloads page. Your existing meetings are untouched.
Release questions
How do I update?
Download the current preview from the downloads page and install it over the existing app. Your license stays valid and your meeting library stays where it is.
Which version am I on?
The version is shown inside the app. Compare it against the current preview listed above.
Will there be a stable 1.0?
That is the direction, and license holders get there without paying again during the preview. We would rather not put a date on it than invent one.
Do I need to download the speech models again?
No. Models are fetched once from models.jesrecap.com and reused, and the same goes for the one-time 54 MB speaker-labelling model.
Found a bug or something missing?
Email support@jesrecap.com. Preview feedback is the reason the channel exists, and it is read by the people writing the code.
Run the current preview
macOS 14.2 or newer, or Windows 10 and 11. Everything stays on the machine you install it on.
